Since1955
It was born as a single company under the responsibility of Jesus Ugalde in 1955. First as a manufacturer of nuts and then, in 1956, officially as a “manufacturer of screws”. That's when he gets to work with his first automatic lathes in a small place.
For 3 years he worked exclusively for a few clients in the area. Soon the current legal situation forced him to find new markets and he started to work on a national level.
In 1976, as a result of its good track record, it ordered the construction of a warehouse to adapt to its new needs. The first forays into the world of imports soon followed, allowing the company to improve its product range.
In 1995 Jesús Ugalde retired and gave way to a new generation who, convinced of the importance of "customer orientation", took over a new pavilion where they reorganised the activity with modern semi-automated warehouses and larger spaces.
In 2005 UGATU obtained ISO 9001 certification and at the same time drew up a FAMILY PROTOCOL to guarantee the continuity of the company and professionalise its structure.
These two achievements were followed in 2011 by a fully functional ONLINE STORE, a pioneer in its sector and the basis of its current growth.

In compliance with the established standards, internal quality controls are carried out and certificates of all kinds are issued, if required sufficiently in advance, using the equipment available in our laboratory and in that of AZTERLAN, a laboratory of recognised prestige.
In order to comply with the requirements of the new ISO 9001:2015 standard, applicable to our Management and Quality System, our suppliers and subcontractors will be monitored and evaluated.
